RESEARCH DEPARTEMENT
| Some years ago we
started our research on the wood and surface patina of African
sculpture. As time got by we gathered an important database of over a
1000 samples from different tribes and area's that were taken
with the stereo-microscope with high definition camera. We also worked
with the Milan museum for wood dating IR Retroscopy analyse but due to
the lack of acceptance by the scientific world we desided not to
use these tests in the future. On the otherhand we recently started to
work with the Brussels Art Laboratory (BAL) for carbon C14 wood dating
and object scanning that provides us with a very acurate information
regarding the age, stability, originality and possibly any restoration
from its past. The main reason why we started this research
departement are the high quality objects that we deal with and to
provide our clients with a complete report to acompany his sculpture
or object. Rarely an object or sculpture is withdraw from our
collection due to the results of these analyses.
